In order to get our client's approval to electronically file their tax returns, we need their signature.
Dropbox
Select the Dropbox document from within Asana.
Click the grey "Sign In" button at the top right.
Fill in Dropbox login details with username: admin@growthgroup.com password: G%SsY5FcP55m
Click the blue "Sign In" button.
Click the down arrow next to the blue "Share" button at the top right.
Choose "Send for Signature" from the dropdown menu
Enter the client's name & e-mail address. (You can get these details from the "Send tax return confirmation..." task in Asana.)
Click the three-dot vertical menu on the right-hand side of the email address field.
Click "Add signer authentication"
In the "Code (case sensitive)" field, type the client's social security number or EIN including the dashes. (PRO TIP: this can be copied and pasted from page 2 of the Dropbox file)
Repeat steps 1-4 if this is a joint return. (the spouse's email address can be found in the tax review sheet)
Within the tax return, scroll to the first signature page (E-file Authorization).
Click and drag the "Signature Field" onto the document and place it on the signature line.
Click and drag the "Date Signed Filed" onto the document and place it on the date line.
Scroll to the tax return signature page.
Repeat steps 1-4 for each state return for this client.
Click the blue "Next" button at the top right, twice to skip the file saving page, it is already setup as needed.
Select "Edit Message"
Under the Message to All Recipients section type the following e-mail message: Please review and sign your 2022 tax return. The password is your social including the dashes. (if this is a business change social to EIN)
Click "Send for Signature"
Mark the task complete in Asana.
