For ALL new clients, before starting on their new tax return, fill out the prior year comparison worksheet. This way we can easily see if there are any major differences that we need to request more from the client.
Proconnect
- Login to Proconnect here
- Ensure the proper tax year is selected at the top left corner.
- Type the client's name into the Filter box (if the client is not yet listed, Create A Tax Return)
- Click the View Return button for the applicable tax year from the list of options
- Click the Input Return tab
- Scroll down and click the section titled Other
- Click the Prior Year Summary option
- Select Federal Prior Year Summary
- Input the information from the client's return
- Repeat procedure in the State Prior Year Summary area
